Bonded Title Florida - What It Is, What It Costs
A bonded title is Florida's legal path to ownership when you have a vehicle but no proof of it - no title, no bill of sale trail, maybe just a handshаke and a car in your driveway. Instead of a title, you post a surety bond equal to one and a half times the vehicle's value, and the state issues a title branded as bonded.
When do you need one? The classic cases: a car bought with no paperwork at all, a title signed over incorrectly with no way to reach the seller, an abandoned vehicle left on your property, or an estate where nobody can find the paperwork.
The process: we verify the VIN, run the required motor vehicle record check, complete HSMV form 82103 and the bonded title declaration, help you buy the surety bond (typically around $100 for most passenger cars), and file everything with the state. The bond stays active for three years - if nobody claims the vehicle in that window, you can apply to clear the bonded brand.
Sawgrass Title & Tag charges a $400 flat service fee for the bonded title process - the bond itself is separate and paid to the surety company. No hourly fees, no upsells.
We serve Port St Lucie, Jensen Beach, Stuart, Fort Pierce, and the whole Treasure Coast, and handle out of area bonded titles by mail and email. Se habla espanol.
See the Bonded Title service page for exactly what your $400 covers, then upload your documents - VIN photos included - and text 772-800-5551 with questions.
